NDCC Canadian National Championships postponed to 2021

By May 12, 2020No Comments

These are unprecedented times. The COVID-19 pandemic has shut down dance studios across the country and isolated dancers in their homes. The NDCC board has continued to meet regularly through remote conferencing to discuss issues related to Canada’s dance community. The board is committed to protecting the health and safety of all dancers, and to ensure that all competitors in the Canadian National Championships have a fair competitive environment, with equal opportunities for all.

It is clear that large gatherings will not be acceptable until a cure or vaccine for this virus are available. Provinces are affected in different ways and are returning to economic activities in stages that vary considerably from one region to another. In light of those realities, the board has chosen to postpone the NDCC Canadian Championships until August 2021. We will provide a new date as soon as we are able to finalize arrangements.

The board encourages all dancers to stay motivated and positive, as well as healthy, through this challenging period in our nation’s history.
